We are pleased to announce that K3Y Ltd participated in the final activities of the Erasmus+ project Drones4GREEN (Drones for GREEn iNdustry)<\/a><\/strong>, which took place in Kozani, Greece, from December 9 to 12, 2025. The programme included a three-day Drone Training Session (9\u201311 December), followed by the 3rd Multiplier Event and the Project Closure Meeting. The events were organized by our colleagues from Metamind Innovations P.C.<\/em><\/strong><\/a> and brought together project partners, students, researchers, and industry representatives to present the project\u2019s results and strengthen knowledge exchange around drone technologies and their applications in green industries.<\/p>\n

Drones4GREEN is an Erasmus+ project designed to unlock new business opportunities in drone technology by establishing an open, collaborative learning environment across the EU. Bringing together HEIs, ICT companies, SMEs and the drone industry, the project updates higher education curricula to integrate practical and theoretical expertise in UAV deployment, maintenance, data acquisition and visualization, while embedding principles of the European Green Deal. Through hands-on training and real-world industrial applications, particularly in agriculture, Drones4GREEN strengthens skills development, promotes environmentally responsible innovation, and supports the effective adoption of drone technologies in modern industry.<\/p>\n

From December 9 to 11, 2025, a three-day Drone Training Session was held in Kozani as part of the Drones4GREEN project activities. The training combined theoretical lectures, laboratory sessions, and hands-on field operations, providing participants with practical experience in drone mission planning, environmental monitoring, and flight simulation. The programme concluded with real-world drone flight operations for crop stress detection using multispectral sensors. The training successfully equipped participants with key competencies in drone technologies while demonstrating the practical applicability of the project\u2019s drone deployment framework.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

On December 11, 2025, the 3rd Multiplier Event gathered 31 participants from academia, industry, and public authorities, creating an interactive platform for presenting the final results of the Drones4GREEN project. The event focused on the Drone Open Digital Hub (DODH) and the agriculture use case, showcasing how drone technology can support environmental monitoring, precision farming, and sustainable resource management. A dedicated clustering session fostered synergies with related initiatives, encouraging knowledge exchange and future collaboration. The Closure Meeting that followed allowed partners to reflect on achievements, lessons learned, and the project\u2019s long-term impact.<\/p>\n

On December 12, 2025, the Project Closure Meeting bringing together all consortium partners to review the final outcomes and overall achievements of the project. During the meeting, each Work Package was presented and evaluated, highlighting the development of educational materials, the Drones4GREEN mobile application, the Drone Open Digital Hub, and the agriculture case study. The consortium also discussed administrative closure steps and future collaboration opportunities. The meeting concluded with partners\u2019 reflections, confirming the project\u2019s success and the strong collaborative spirit established throughout its implementation.<\/p>\n

Represented by our colleagues Zacharenia Lekka<\/a><\/em><\/strong> and Marios Siganos<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, K3Y Ltd presented the outcomes of Work Package 3, focusing on the development of the Drones4GREEN mobile application. The application was implemented as a Progressive Web App (PWA) to ensure cross-platform compatibility and accessibility. It provides drone operators with essential tools, including identification of suitable flight locations, real-time weather information, guidance on no-fly zones, and regulatory compliance support. Available in four languages (English, Swedish, Bulgarian, and Greek), the application underwent a structured four-stage beta-testing process, ensuring reliability, usability, and quality performance. The presentation also highlighted key lessons learned, particularly regarding cross-platform development and systematic user testing.<\/p>\n
