The 5G TECHRITORY<\/strong><\/a> platform is an initiative to bring together the key players in 5G development with the goal of developing a robust and aligned 5G Ecosystem in Europe and beyond. This year\u2019s topic Technology Shaping Tomorrow\u2019s Territory<\/strong><\/em> brought together over 600 speakers and guests in attendance in Riga, Latvia, with livestreams reaching to a global audience.<\/p>\n

Panel Discussion on <\/strong>Immersive XR Technologies and Digital Twins for Tourism, Education, and Cultural Preservation<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In the \u201cImmersive XR Technologies and Digital Twins for Tourism, Education, and Cultural Preservation\u201d panel, our project coordinator, Ioannis Markopoulos, joined experts to explore the transformative applications of XR and digital twin technologies. The discussion centered on how virtual tours, interactive exhibits, and location-based mixed-reality experiences are reshaping tourism and educational engagement. Panelists highlighted the role of digital twins in cultural preservation, enabling remote access to heritage sites and virtual restorations that safeguard cultural heritage for future generations. Mr. Markopoulos contributed insights, emphasizing the role of testbeds for trials involving XR, enhanced network applications, advanced security, and next-generation orchestrators. The panel also addressed the technological challenges in immersive XR deployments, including hardware limitations, network bandwidth, and data interoperability, and emphasized the importance of collaboration among government agencies, cultural institutions, technology providers, and tourism operators in realizing the potential of these technologies.<\/p>\n

About ACROSS <\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

ACROSS is a HORIZON-JU-SNS-2022 funded research project that designs and implements an end-to-end service deployment and management platform for next generation networks and services, aiming at unprecedented levels of automation, performance, scalability, and energy efficiency. The platform is further enhanced with a) deep end-to-end telemetry<\/em><\/strong> to unlock visibility of the intertwined network and compute system states, b) AI-driven intelligence<\/strong><\/em> that leverages both the vast number of events originating from the dense IoT ecosystem and detailed monitoring data originating from the ACROSS telemetry sub-system, to generate new insights, c) full-stack cross-domain zero-touch provisioning<\/strong><\/em> via programmable \u201chooks\u201d that exploit events originating from raw telemetry and AI processed events, and d) secure and trusted orchestration mechanisms<\/em><\/strong> for trusted computing technologies over large and heterogeneous cloud-edge deployments, as well as orchestration and monitoring of the security VNF.<\/p>\n
