Project Objective
The Women4AGreenEU project aims to significantly enhance the participation and success of women in the green technology sector through a comprehensive strategy that integrates advocacy, policy experimentation, and educational empowerment. This initiative seeks to dismantle the systemic barriers that hinder women’s full involvement in green tech with a multifaceted strategy. The objectives of Women4AGreenEU will be realized through a comprehensive set of integrated advocacy and policy actions carried out over the 36 months of the project. Activities will include developing a policy observatory; developing and disseminating a policy blueprint; large scale advocacy via a proposed network of stakeholders; a series of large- and small-scale events and; pilot training programmes focused on Women joining the green technology sector. These activities are organized under a proposed Women4AGreenEU Advocacy & Policy Innovation Ecosystem. The project can be better understand into the following stages:
Stage 1 - Building the Ecosystem: Building tools and instruments to develop and share effective policy for women in green tech, including developing framework, consulting stakeholders, drawing blueprints and creating an advocacy network;
Stage 2 - Awareness raising: Raise awareness and engage target groups and stakeholders through outreach efforts, including digital content and social networking; developing workshops, seminars in schools, VET providers and employment offices designed to engage with young women and women re entering the job market;
Stage 3 - Capacity Building: Actively and measurably prepare women for green tech jobs via specific training programmes and a mentorship initiative; Capacity building programme focused on educators and career counsellors to increase women in green tech career paths;
Stage 4 – Legacy and Expansion: Leverage the groundwork laid in earlier phases to expand the ecosystem and maintain its activities; keep policy assessment and advocacy.
