CASTOR – Technical Workshop (Sep. 2025)

September 30, 2025

We are happy to share that K3Y Ltd actively participated in the CASTOR Technical Workshop, hosted at the University of Surrey at its campus in the United Kingdom on 2 September 2025.

This hybrid workshop brought together technical teams from across the consortium to advance the design and integration of CASTOR’s framework for secure, trusted, and resilient communications across the compute continuum.

The workshop provided an in-depth exploration of CASTOR’s core technical requirements, with sessions dedicated to defining the overall architecture, use case specifications, and key deliverables. Discussions focused on essential components such as the Trust Assessment Framework, policy enforcement, orchestration, and traffic engineering. The agenda also included a review of CASTOR’s use cases, spanning UAV communications, first responder networks, and secure urban air mobility, demonstrating the project’s strong focus on real-world applications.

K3Y Ltd presented how CASTOR will be integrated into a 5G environment for UAVs, demonstrating how existing 5G networks can support trusted routing, traffic engineering, and secure communication flows in drone operations. This work highlighted CASTOR’s practical application in enabling secure, trusted, and resilient UAV connectivity.

The workshop sessions were filled with valuable insights, setting the stage for the next phase of CASTOR’s journey. As the project progresses, more updates, results, and lessons learned will be shared, contributing to the vision of trustworthy communication across the compute continuum.
