About TORNADO
The TORNADO project aims to develop an innovative and adaptive cloud robotics platform supporting autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) operating in complex, dynamic, and human-populated indoor environments. The project enables advanced capabilities such as manipulation of soft and deformable objects, human-robot interaction through gestures and speech, and adaptive task execution using AI-based Foundation Models. It also integrates human trust modeling to ensure smooth societal adoption. TORNADO will be validated across three key use cases: industrial manufacturing, healthcare environments, and logistics/distribution centres, demonstrating its potential across diverse real-world scenarios.
