TREEADS 6th General Assembly Meeting
During 25-27 September 2024, the TREEADS partners gathered for their sixth General Assembly (GA). Hosted by the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania (MAICh) and the Technical University of Crete (TUC) in the sunny Greek city of Chania in the island of Crete, this event brought together project partners and stakeholders from across Europe and beyond, focusing on wildfire prevention, detection, and restoration technologies.
The first day of the General Assembly highlighted key updates and achievements while the second day focused on advancements in pilots across various countries. On the final day, participants visited Samaria Gorge, the site of the Greek pilot. Additionally, the first two days featured a learning and governance stakeholder workshop, which gathered feedback on the pilot installations and explored lessons learned from these implementations.
Our colleagues, Zacharenia Lekka and Marios Siganos, represented K3Y Ltd, the lead partner for Tasks 3.1 and 3.5, providing an update on their progress. These tasks focus on the development of ecological and environmental wildfire models, conducting a survey to support the development and validation of the TREEADS platform, and analyzing the standards and interoperability of fire management platforms across Europe.
