INCODE Highlights Smart Logistics at EU Swarm Intelligence Workshop

As part of the Swarm Intelligence cluster workshop hosted by the European Commission last month (5 September 2024) in Brussels, our colleague Panagiotis Zikos from iLINK New Technologies presented one of INCODE’s Application Areas, focusing on Smart Logistics. Specifically, the presentation session titled “Logistics and Transport Quality Value Chain” was featured among other use cases showcased from the cluster’s swarm projects.

The workshop brought together researchers, experts, and stakeholders from several EUCloudEdgeIoT projects, including INCODE, TaRDIS, OASEES, OpenSwarm, and SMARTEDGE, to discuss the progress and future directions of swarm intelligence technologies.

INCODE’s presentation highlighted how the logistics and transport industry is evolving with the application of swarm intelligence, focusing on optimizing resource utilization, enhancing safety, improving transport quality, and leveraging edge computing. The project’s innovative solution employs IoT sensors, Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology, and advanced algorithms such as Routing as a Service (RaaS) to create a smarter, safer, and more efficient logistics network.
