XTRUST-6G 2nd Plenary Meeting

August 8, 2025

On July 1–2, 2025, XTRUST-6G partners convened in Nicosia, Cyprus, for their second Plenary Meeting, hosted by ADDITESS – Advanced Integrated Technology Solutions & Services Ltd. The two-day event brought together representatives from the 19 consortium partners, providing an opportunity to review progress, exchange technical insights, and align on the next steps toward building secure, resilient, and quantum-safe 6G networks.

The meeting marked an important milestone in the project’s first year, reaffirming the consortium’s collective commitment to designing a Zero-Trust-based architecture capable of addressing the cybersecurity challenges of future 6G systems.

Day 1 - Use Case Presentations and Collaboration

The meeting opened with warm welcoming remarks from ADDITESS and CERTH, followed by in-depth presentations of the project’s five key use cases:

- Use Case 1: Resilience of 6G-enabled EV Charging Infrastructure – Led by PPC
- Use Case 2: Securing 6G-Connected Autonomous Vehicles – Led by TALTECH
- Use Case 3: End-to-End Security with Quantum Key Distribution – Led by SNT
- Use Case 4: UAV-Assisted 6G Communications Security – Led by ADDITESS
- Use Case 5: Protection of Virtualized 6G Infrastructure – Led by IQU

Later in the day, Work Package 1 (WP1) sessions focused on coordination, dissemination, exploitation strategies, and clustering activities, fostering a productive exchange among partners.

Day 2 - Technical Alignment and Architecture

The second day featured technical sessions on the system architecture and the Zero-Trust security framework that underpins the project. Particular emphasis was placed on the upcoming Deliverable D2.1 and the architectural components required to implement a secure-by-design 6G platform.

The agenda continued with updates from the remaining technical work packages, covering topics such as:

- Identity and Access Management
- Trusted AI/ML
- Cyber-Threat Detection
- Quantum-Safe Technologies
- Secure Orchestration and Integration
- KPI Monitoring and Evaluation

The meeting concluded with a General Assembly session, during which upcoming deliverables, integration timelines, and the next Project Management Board (PMB) meeting were discussed and agreed upon.

K3Y Ltd, as the project's Technical Manager, plays a key role in driving its technical direction and innovation, ensuring that architectural and implementation efforts remain aligned with the project’s vision.

During the meeting, our Head of R&D, Panagiotis Radoglou Grammatikis, actively engaged in all technical discussions, supporting the definition of the use cases, technical specifications, and overall architecture. Our team also presented Work Package 3, which focuses on enhancing the security and management of endpoints, identities, and services within 6G networks.

In addition, K3Y Ltd, as the lead partner for several key tasks, provided updates on:

- Task 1.6, which focuses on clustering, awareness, and standardization efforts;

- Task 3.4, dedicated to network micro-segmentation and trusted onboarding; and

- Task 5.1, which addresses cyber deception and the automated extraction of tactics, techniques, and procedures.

As the project progresses, this collaborative spirit will be key to delivering a robust, privacy-preserving 6G architecture that can meet the evolving demands of secure digital infrastructures in Europe and beyond.
