We are seeking for a Cybersecurity Engineer specialising in penetration testing and cybersecurity assessment & development to join our team. You will conduct risk & security assessments on network infrastructures, applications, and emerging applications & technologies (5G, IoT, SDN/NFV), contributing directly to EU-funded R&D or/and commercial projects. Your findings will shape the development of next-generation cybersecurity tools, including agentic penetration testing suites, intrusion detection systems, threat mitigation tools, and security datasets used across multinational research consortia. If needed, you will represent the company in consortium meetings, workshops, and EU project reviews, while participating in internal and plenary meetings, demonstration meetings, workshops and conferences, where appropriate.

 

Responsibilities

Plan and execute penetration tests on network infrastructures, virtualised environments, and emerging tech platforms.

- Develop and maintain custom security tools, scripts, and attack/defence emulators.

- Contribute to the creation and curation of security datasets for ML-based threat detection research.

- Perform vulnerability assessments and risk analysis, by translating findings into actionable recommendations.

Author and deliver high-quality technical and non-technical reports, research deliverables, and scientific papers.

- Collaborate with internal engineers and international consortium partners on cybersecurity R&D workstreams.

- Participate in technical and consortium review meetings, representing the company.

- Stay current with the latest attack techniques, CVEs, and cybersecurity research trends.

 

Basic Qualifications

- BSc or/and MSc in Computer Science, Engineering, ICT or related fields.

- Proven hands-on experience in penetration testing (network, web application, and/or infrastructure).

- Proficiency in Python for exploit scripting, automation and tooling.

- Familiarity with vulnerability assessment methodologies (CVE analysis, CVSS scoring, threat modelling).

- Strong problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills across technical and non-technical contexts.

- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and collaborate across international teams.

 

Preferred Qualifications

- Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in scientific or engineering field, preferably in computer science, electrical engineering or ICT.

- Experience in working with EU-funded projects.

- Certifications such as OSCP, CEH, GPEN, CISSP, or CCNA Security.

- Experience with containerised environments (Docker, Kubernetes) and their security implications.

- Knowledge of red team / blue team methodologies and adversarial simulation frameworks (e.g., MITRE ATT&CK).

- Exposure to EU R&D projects (Horizon 2020 / Horizon Europe) is a strong plus.
