CIRCAT Kick-off Meeting
We are proud to announce K3Y Ltd’s participation in the successful CIRCAT project kick-off meeting, held in Athens, Greece, on January 21-22, 2026. The event was hosted by NCSA.
The meeting marked a significant milestone and an enthusiastic start to our journey toward a more resilient and intelligent cybersecurity landscape for Europe’s critical sectors. K3Y Ltd, always at the forefront of technology, brought its technical expertise to valuable discussions on AI-driven vulnerability assessment, penetration testing scenarios, and intelligent threat detection and response mechanisms.

The CIRCAT project was officially launched during the kick-off meeting, bringing together all consortium partners for the first time in person. During the meeting, partners introduced their organisations, roles, and planned contributions, fostering a shared understanding of the project’s objectives and structure. Discussions focused on aligning responsibilities, key activities, and initial priorities, as well as presenting the project management approach. The meeting concluded with a clear roadmap and an agreed plan for the first phase of the project, ensuring a strong and coordinated start.

CIRCAT will enhance cybersecurity resilience for large industrial installations and critical infrastructure sectors under NIS2 by leveraging AI-driven tools and processes. It will support organisations through continuous risk assessment, penetration testing, and advanced training in a Cyber Range environment. By integrating near real-time monitoring, AI-based threat detection, and automated mitigation, CIRCAT will enable proactive defence against emerging threats. The project will also incorporate Cyber Threat Intelligence feeds and realistic simulations across IT, cloud, ICS, and IoT systems, while fostering cross-border collaboration and coordinated response capabilities among EU Member States.

Represented by our colleague Georgios Kalitsios, K3Y Ltd presented its role in the CIRCAT project, outlining the key activities under its leadership. In particular, K3Y leads Task T2.1 on penetration testing scenarios, along with core AI-driven tasks including T3.2 on vulnerability identification and assessment, T3.5 on AI-based reporting for threat detection and response prioritisation, and T3.6 on trustworthy and explainable AI/ML implementation. In addition, K3Y leads T4.1 on preparation and evaluation planning, while also contributing to cyber threat support services for third-party projects (T5.4) and the project’s exploitation and sustainability strategy (T6.3).

We’re excited to embark on this journey and contribute to strengthening cybersecurity resilience across Europe’s critical infrastructures.
Stay tuned for updates as the CIRCAT project progresses.
