Ιούνιος 24, 2025

K3Y Ltd proudly participated in the Final Event of the H2020 TREEADS project, represented by our colleague Zacharenia Lekka. The event took place on May 27th, 2025, at the Congress Center of NCSR Demokritos in the vibrant city of Athens, Greece.

The event marked the culmination of three years of impactful research, development, and real-world testing of advanced wildfire management technologies. Organized by Acceligence Ltd., the event brought together project partners, public authorities, first responders, researchers, and innovation stakeholders to exchange insights, demonstrate results, and help shape the roadmap for wildfire resilience in Europe and beyond.

During the opening session, participants were welcomed by Pantelis Velanas, CEO and Director at Acceligence, and Georgios Nounesis, Director and Chairman of the Board at NCSR Demokritos. A keynote presentation by TREEADS Project Coordinator Kemal Sarp Arsava (FRN) provided an in-depth overview of the project’s outcomes and achievements across the pilot sites.

A series of technical demonstrations showcased the cutting-edge innovations developed within the project:

- Autonomous Drone and Robotic Systems: Presented by Katerina Margariti (ACCELI), focusing on aerial systems for wildfire monitoring and suppression.

- WebGIS Prevention Platform: Demonstrated by Diego Gonzales Aguilera (USAL), offering advanced spatial intelligence tools.

- CO Sensor & Risk Alert App: Introduced by Dimitris Kyriazanos and Thomas Maggos (NCSRD), combining citizen-driven data and real-time alerts.

Insights from real-world pilot implementations across Europe were presented by Carmine Pascale (STRESS), while Georg Aumayr (JOAFG) and Dr. Hsiao-Lung Pan (Taiwan Forestry Research Institute) contributed perspectives from operational deployments in Europe and Taiwan.

The forward-looking segment of the event included presentations by John Kaldis (INNOV-ACTS) on TREEADS’ exploitation strategies and Diogo Vallim (CBS) on the TREEADS Think Tank Advisory Board's role in shaping governance and post-project sustainability.

The event concluded with closing reflections by Kemal Sarp Arsava, emphasizing TREEADS’ lasting contributions to the European wildfire management ecosystem.

K3Y Ltd is honored to have contributed to this important initiative and extends its appreciation to all partners for their collaboration and dedication throughout the project lifecycle.
