6G-OPTICON Kick-off Meeting

We are excited to share that K3Y Ltd successfully participated in the online Kick-off Meeting of the 6G-OPTICON project, held on 7 July 2026. Following the official start of the project on 1 June 2026, the meeting brought together the consortium partners to launch their collaboration and align on the project’s objectives, technical direction, and first implementation steps.

 

During the meeting, partners introduced their organisations, expertise, and roles in 6G-OPTICON. The discussions covered the project’s overall vision and technical roadmap, the planned platform architecture and use cases, the development of next-generation orchestration and AI-based network optimisation mechanisms, as well as the integration and validation approach. The consortium also reviewed the technical work plan and agreed on the immediate next steps for the first phase of the project.

 

6G-OPTICON will develop a next-generation, end-to-end orchestration framework for 6G networks, enabling intelligent and adaptive planning, optimisation, and management across interconnected networks and heterogeneous domains. The project will combine constraint-native deep learning with an open and modular orchestration framework spanning O-RAN, core, transport, and edge infrastructures. It will also explore secure-by-design AI pipelines and energy-adaptive, hardware-aware AI deployment approaches, contributing to more sustainable, trustworthy, and intelligent 6G network orchestration.

 

 

K3Y Ltd, represented by our colleagues Panagiotis Radoglou Grammatikis (Head of R&D) and Akis Nousias (Senior AI Engineer/Researcher), presented its role and key activities within 6G-OPTICON. K3Y leads WP4, which focuses on the project’s Vertical Intelligence Layer and the development of AI models and systems for the intelligent orchestration of 6G networks. This includes an LLM-based intent management system, novel constraint-native deep learning architectures for proactive and reactive SLA assurance and end-to-end resource management, as well as mechanisms supporting AI trust and robustness. Within WP4, K3Y will lead Task 4.2, focusing on the investigation of novel constraint-native deep learning architectures. In addition, K3Y leads Task 2.2 on the definition of the 6G-OPTICON use cases and Task 5.4, focusing on use case analysis and migration studies outcomes.

 

 

We’re looking forward to contributing to 6G-OPTICON as the project moves into its first implementation phase.
