Ιούλιος 10, 2026

We are happy to announce that K3Y Ltd successfully participated in the 2nd Plenary Meeting of the TORNADO project, hosted by the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in Barcelona, Spain, on 5-6 May 2026.

The two-day meeting brought together representatives from all consortium partners to review the progress achieved so far, strengthen technical collaboration, and align on the next phase of the project. The sessions provided an excellent opportunity to assess developments across all work packages, coordinate upcoming activities, and define the priorities leading to the project's next technical milestones.

During the first day, partners reviewed progress across all work packages, presenting the achievements accomplished so far, ongoing activities, upcoming objectives, and technical challenges. Discussions focused on system architecture, core technology development, project coordination, and the planning of the next implementation phase, while particular attention was given to the three pilot use cases and the collaboration required across technical work packages.

The second day focused on system integration, testing activities, and the progress of the three pilot use cases. Partners discussed deployment roadmaps, integration challenges, validation plans, and end-to-end workflows, while a live laboratory demonstration showcased the project's robotic technologies and highlighted their capabilities in realistic operational environments.

K3Y Ltd was represented by our colleagues Evangelia Pantraki and Georgios Tziolas, who presented the company’s latest progress across key TORNADO activities. They showcased ongoing work on explainable AI for human–robot interaction, including XAI pipelines for vision, speech and language models. K3Y also presented its progress in developing the robot–edge–cloud infrastructure, featuring dynamic orchestration of AI services. In addition, the team provided an update on WP7 and the project’s exploitation activities, highlighting the next steps towards maximising TORNADO’s long-term impact, sustainability and market uptake.

Stay tuned for more updates as TORNADO continues to progress towards its upcoming technical milestones and pilot activities.
